Fruit
Coatings
Fruit that looks good, sells first! Moisture retention of fruit
is generally achieved by the natural wax found in the epicuticular
layer of the fruit. After harvest, most fruit is subjected to an
extensive washing process during which this natural waxy film is
damaged / removed. This natural film is generally restored by the
application of a fruit coating emulsion in the pack-house.
